"I don't pee my pants, so why would I need to go to pelvic floor therapy?" This is was I thought just one short year ago, yet little did I know that the pain in my back & the weakness still in my core 8 months postpartum was due to pelvic floor dysfunction.
In today's episode, I talk with Dr. Julie Haake, DPT. She specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and will help you better understand WHAT the pelvic floor is, WHY it's important for moms to seek out pelvic floor physical therapy, WHEN it's ideal for moms to seek out treatment, and so much more!
Put your thinking caps on and get ready to learn about your body! And don't forget that just because something is COMMON does NOT mean it is normal!
HEADS UP, MAMA: We are talking female anatomy, so don't be caught off guard by any terms if you usually listen in the car with your kids. Pelvic floor health shouldn't be taboo (and thankfully awareness is growing so much in our generation!), but I respect you and how you parent so wanted you to have that heads up!
